About GSSWI

The mission of this society shall be educational, as provided in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and as consistent with the laws of the State of Washington. The society is devoted exclusively to furthering genealogical research, promoting interest in family history and preserving records. To further this educational purpose, the society may conduct meetings; offer classes; compile and print research materials; receive, hold and manage gifts; and engage in other activities which encourage family history.

Donations

The Genealogical Society of South Whidbey Island is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Donations to GSSWI are tax-deductible as provided by law.

Donations of materials, equipment, office supplies, refreshments and other items are welcome in addition to cash donations. Donors are encouraged to complete a Receipt for Donation form and present it with their donation.

The Ernst Family in 1904. He was considered wealthy in Europe but had to leave everything there. He was a stone mason and emigrated with his whole family ? 10 children, one niece and one Polish servant girl. One child died on the boat, and two more children were born in the US.
