GSSWI has created several Interest Groups in which members can share questions, answers, and resources in smaller groups of members. Groups are currently active in these areas:
German Interest Group

Legacy Family Tree Software for the PC Interest Group
The Legacy Group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 3 - 5:00 pm at the Freeland Library. It is for anyone using a PC and Legacy genealogical software. There are periodic sessions only for beginners.

New England/ New York Interest Group
The NE/NY group meets the 4th Monday of each month from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Freeland Library. Group interest includes the genealogical areas of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York.

Reunion Software for the Mac Interest Group
The Mac group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 12:30-2:45 pm at the Freeland Library. This group is for anyone using a Macintosh computer and Reunion genealogical software.

Writers Interest Group
The Writers Interest Group normally meets once a month at various locations. All are welcome whether or not you have written anything about your family yet. The group doesn't meet at the same place every time, so please get in touch ahead of time to find out where to meet that day. The time is always from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

4th Wednesday - General Focus Group
The General Focus group meets the fourth Wednesday of each month from from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Freeland Library. Learn something new and get energized about your research. Take it from long-time researchers, the chance to sit and share ideas with other genealogy advocates is a valuable experience. We discuss any topic of genealogical interest. Each month's meeting will begin with a presentation on a different topic followed by questions you bring to the meeting. Your questions can be on ANY genealogical topic or any geographic area. The assembled group will do their best to help you.
