GSSWI Seminar - April 25th, 2015

The Genealogical Society of South Whidbey Island will host its 2015 Seminar at the Dancing Fish Farmhouse on April 25th 2015.  The seminar speaker will be Bill Dollarhide whose background is given below.

William W. Dollarhide was born in 1942 and raised in Seattle. He was educated at West Seattle High School, Edison Technical School, Seattle Community College, the University of Washington, and Western Washington University. For eight years, he was employed as an Associate Architect at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. He has been in pursuit of his family origins since 1971.

He is the author of eight books, three of which were published by Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. of Baltimore, Maryland since 1987: Managing a Genealogical Project; the Genealogy Starter Kit; and with William Thorndale, Map Guide to the U.S. Federal Censuses, 1790-1920. He has authored five books published by Heritage Quest since 1994: Seven Steps to a Family Tree; Map Guide to American Migration Routes, 1735-1815; British Origins of American Colonists, 1629-1775; and with Ronald Bremer, America’s Best Genealogy Resource Centers. His latest book is U.S. and Canadian Census Records: A Genealogist’s Guide to Census Facts, Schedules, and Indexes, with a publication date during the summer of 1998.

The 2015 Seminar will include four separate genealogical sessions. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the seminar concludes at 4:30 p.m. Registration cost for the entire day is $50.00 (U.S.), and includes the four sessions, morning snack, and tea and coffee all day long in a beautiful and comfortable setting. On-site hot lunch is also available for $12.00. Pre-registration is strongly recommended.

Northbound: From Mukilteo Ferry and Clinton, drive State Route 525, app. 6 mi; Turn right on Double Bluff Road 0.4 mi; Turn left onto Newman Road 0.2 mi: 1953 Newman Road is on the right.

Southbound: From Port Townsend Ferry or Deception Pass Bridge, follow highway 20 to Freeland. Turn left on Double Bluff Road 0.4 mi; Turn left on Newman Road 0.2 mi: 1953 Newman Road is on the right. (Note that Highway 20 becomes highway 525 just south of Coupeville.)
